Deepen Your Practice. Strengthen Your Teaching

This advanced 50-hour training is designed to deepen your personal meditation practice and help you step more confidently into the role of a meditation teacher. It’s ideal for those who already have a foundational practice and are ready to explore more nuanced teachings and practical applications.

Through a balance of guided meditation, interactive discussion, and hands-on teaching practice, we’ll explore:

  • Establishing and Sustaining a Personal Practice

    What does a committed meditation practice look like? How does it evolve over time?

  • Supporting Others in Practice

    Learn how to guide and support students in developing their own consistent practice.

  • The Nervous System

    Understand the roles of the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems in meditation and stress regulation.

  • Secular vs. Spiritual Approaches

    Explore different frameworks for teaching meditation and find your authentic voice.

  • The Concept of Lineage

    What does it mean to honor and understand the tradition behind the teachings?

  • The Three Jewels: Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha

    Deepen your understanding of these foundational principles and their relevance to modern life.

  • Listening, Hearing, and Contemplation

    Cultivate a deeper awareness in your own practice and teaching.

  • Guided Self-Inquiry

    Use meditation to examine your own beliefs and intentions as a teacher.

  • The Role of a Teacher

    Do you need one? What kind of teacher do you aspire to be?

  • Study & Continuing Education

    Learn how to build a personal study library and sustain your learning journey.

  • Intentional Teaching

    Clarify your intention for teaching and understand why authentic practice is essential:

    “You cannot teach what you do not actively practice.”

  • Science & Research

    Dive deeper into the proven benefits of meditation and review current studies supporting its impact.


Practical Teaching Application:

  • Each participant will lead a guided meditation and receive feedback.

  • Practice teaching in small groups for peer support and growth.

  • Learn how to incorporate meditation into your yoga classes.

  • Discuss the importance of community, and how to start or join a sangha (or kula).

Additional Personal Practice

  • Additional Required Zoom sits to create a steady practice

Times: Friday evening October 3  6pm-8pm Saturday October 4  & Sunday October 5  9am-5pm

Investment: Early Bird $375 | After Sept 19 $425

Prerequisite: Completion of Level 1 Meditation Training is required.

Required Book: How to Meditate by Pema Chödrön

Upon completion, students will receive:

  • A 50-hour Level 2 Meditation Teacher Certificate from Kaia Yoga

  • Yoga Alliance Certification (50-hour Continuing Education credit)

Susan Layden, 500hr E-RYT, RCYT/YACEP, Meditation Certifications

Susan did her yoga training at Kaia Yoga with Gina Norman. She considers Gina her mentor and teacher. She is a 500hr E-RYT and YACEP(continuing education provider with yoga alliance and holds a 100hr certification from Little Flower Yoga, to teach yoga and mindfulness to children. She received her 100hr meditation certification from David Nichtern and Kaia Yoga. She received another 100hr certification to teach from Dharmamoon and USTibet House.

Lexy Tomaino, 500hr E-RYT

Lexy believes the effort you put forward on the mat will transform both body and mind. She completed her 200-hour and 300-hour certifications at Kaia Yoga, additional 200-hour trainings with Jonny Kest and in the Baptiste Yoga style at Down Dog Yoga in Washington DC, as well as a second 300 hour certification through Laughing Lotus/LL Studio. She is a certified meditation teacher through David Nictern, a certified Classical Pilates teacher, and a a lawyer who practices wellness and environmental law.
